This past weekend, the Atlanta transit community learned of the tragic death of Jeffrey Parker, MARTA CEO and General Manager. Jeffrey started his career in Boston and has led MARTA since 2018. In his tenure, he led the agency through the COVID-19 Pandemic and successfully launched many initiatives that have positioned the agency for success in the future. His life and work impacted so many in the Atlanta community and he was an inspiration for his employees, colleagues, and transit advocates throughout the region. Our thoughts are with his wife, Erin, and his two daughters as they grieve during this difficult time.
Jeffrey’s wife, Erin, and daughters, Gab and Izzy, are asking that the Atlanta community support the fundraiser created on his behalf at the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
It was an honor and pleasure working with Jeff Parker over the years. He was a steady and fiercely loyal leader to his team. His loss will be felt across the transit and transportation community. -Jennifer Winkler Larosa, Advance Atlanta President
